The Horologe of Andronikos Kyristos - The Tower of Winds

This one is an interesting structure with a hydraulic mechanism. It is an octagonal tower built during the 1st century BC from an astronomer named Andronikos who came from Kyrros, a town of Syria founded by Macedonians Seleucids. It is a combination of a weather-vane with a solar and hydraulic clock. During the first years of Christianity it becomes holly and it is turned into a baptistery.
During the 18th century the clock became a praying spot for Muslims. They decorated it with green flags and other sacred symbols of Mohammed while every Friday there was a mass and dervish dancing.
