Ancient Municipality of Kolyttos

 

In the junction of the pedestrian streets Apostolou Pavlou and Dionysiou Areopagitou with the cobbled passageways of the architect Dimitris Pikionis leading to Filopappou Hill and the Acropolis we can admire, to the east of Apostolou Pavlou street, the ancient street of this municipality as well as the remnants from the classical till the latter antiquity, houses and altars. Special reference has to be made to the altar of Dionysos, Vakcheion (2nd c AC) and Amyneion, which resembled the Asteroskopeion and was dedicated to the doctor-hero named Amynos.
