The wonder of Pastra in Kefalonia
In the humble church of Gravaliotissa in Pastra village something unorthodox is going on. dry lilies blossom! The women of the village gather the lilies from April till May and they keep them by the icons of the church until they are dried and on the 1st of August they take them to the church. The priest sets them on the icon of Virgin Mary from the 10th till the 15th of August where they blossom although they are completely dry before. The blossomed lilies are handed out to the believers on the 15th of August during the celebration dedicated to Virgin Mary.
