The lighthouse of Gerogombos, the jewel of Kefalonia
A beautiful route starts from the capital of Paliki peninsula, Lixouri and after one of the most beautiful routes of the island is crossed, you will reach an area reminding you the wild west. If you choose to come here during the sunset when everything around is orange, then cape Gerogompos with its lighthouse will make you drift away to an endless game of impressions. The building is found there since 1907 when it was built by the English, destroyed by the German troops and rebuilt in 1947.
